Former 400m African record holder and Olympic medalist, Falilat Ogunkoya-Osheku has lauded the Athletics Federation of Nigeria (AFN) for their efforts in preparing Athletes for the upcoming Olympic Games in Paris.
In an interview with Brila.net, Ogunkoya-Osheku expressed her satisfaction with the AFN’s work in organizing competitions, training sessions, and camps to ensure the athletes are well-prepared.
“I think AFN has done their job to pick the team. They know they’re going to the Olympics, and it’s not a place to play. They will get ready, train very hard, and make themselves and Nigeria proud,” said Ogunkoya-Osheku.
She emphasized the significance of the Olympics as a prestigious stage for athletes to showcase their talents and bring pride to their country.
Ogunkoya-Osheku encouraged the athletes to seize this opportunity and give their best performance.
“When you go to the Olympics, some will win and some will not. Whatever happens, you just have to take it,” she added.
