Nigerian Sprint champion Favour Ofili has expressed her disappointment after failing to secure a medal in the women’s 200m final at the Paris Olympics.

The 21-year-old sprinter finished sixth with a time of 22.24 seconds on Tuesday.

“God’s will, not mine. It’s been a hard one coming. Tried to be mentally ready regardless of the shocking news I took a few days back. I gave it my all from lane 9,” Ofili shared on her social media page.

The race was won by Gabrielle Thomas of the United States, who clocked in at 21.83 seconds.

Julien Alfred from Saint Lucia took the silver with a time of 22.08 seconds, while Brittany Brown, also from the United States, secured the bronze with a time of 22.20 seconds.

Despite her disappointment, Ofili stood out as the youngest competitor in the Olympic 200m final and was only 0.04 seconds away from the podium.
