Nigeria’s Offiong Edem was defeated 4-0 by Brazil’s Bruna Takahashi in the Round of 64 of the women’s singles table tennis event.

Despite her efforts in the final two sets, which included two intense tiebreaks, Edem was unable to find a breakthrough.

This defeat marks the end of her fifth Olympic appearance, making her the third Nigerian competitor to exit the table tennis tournament.

Earlier, Aruna Quadri and Omotayo Olajide were also eliminated.
