The training have been scheduled to Domestic and International Training Phases. The domestic phase involves multiple camps set up in key locations such as Lagos, Bayelsa, and Abuja.

“We have them in Lagos, Bayelsa, Pederkut. We have them already, Abuja,” Popoola explained.

Following the domestic phase, the teams will transition to an international training camp in Germany. This next stage is scheduled to commence by the 8th of next month.

“And then by 8th of next month, the team will move out to Germany, you know, for the onshore training,” Popoola noted.

The foreign training camp aims to provide athletes with the opportunity to train in world-class facilities and fine-tune their preparations in a competitive environment.

The training regimen in Germany is part of a comprehensive strategy to ensure that Nigerian athletes are in peak form for the Olympics.

“The whole team, Germany is one of the campaigns. So those ones are set,” Popoola stated, emphasizing the detailed planning involved in the preparation process.

“We are only thinking about our chance that we can get the qualification today but I have not got any result from that yet,” Popoola concluded.

The 2024 Paris Olympics is scheduled for Friday July 26 to Sunday August 11.
