Paris 2024: Nigeria Boxers Touch Down in France

Team Nigeria boxers, Cynthia Ogunsemilore and Adams Olaore have arrived in Paris, for the 2024 Olympic Games.

Nigeria will have two representatives in the boxing category after Dolapo Omole, a 57kg fighter, was forced to withdraw from the games due to an injury sustained in training.

Olaore will compete in the men’s heavyweight (92kg) division, while Ogunsemilore will compete for honours in the women’s (60kg) category.

The duo will hope to end Nigeria’s 28-year medal drought in boxing.

Atlanta 1996 was the last time Nigeria won a medal in the Olympic boxing event.

The Paris 2024 Olympic Games is set to run from July 26 to August 11.
