Paris 2024: Eyakpobeyan Declares Readiness for Olympic Games

Nigeria’s sprinter Justina Eyakpobeyan, a star in the 4×100 meter relay, has declared her readiness to make an impact in the upcoming Olympic Games and make her country proud.

This will be the first Olympic appearance for the 17-year-old Eyakpobeyan.

She played a crucial role in Nigeria’s women’s 4x100m relay team, winning the African Games in March and the African Championships in June with the team also qualifying for the Olympics at the World Relays in the Bahamas in May.

Speaking to Germany’s DW, Eyakpobeyan admitted that reaching the Olympics is challenging, but she is prepared and ready to give her best.

“It’s not an easy job to make the Olympic team, so being able to get here, I’m so grateful to God.

“I am 100 per cent ready because last season I raced at the World Championships and this season too, I also went to Budapest to qualify with the girls for the 4x100m, so I think I am prepared for what is coming,” she said.
