Paris 2024: Ebi Fires back Over Waldrum’s Player Imposition in Olympic Team Claim

Nigerian defender Onome Ebi has voiced her frustration regarding comments attributed to Super Falcons coach, Randy Waldrum about her inclusion in the Olympic Games squad.

Reports emerged on Monday suggesting that Waldrum had expressed concerns about a player being imposed on him.

In response, Ebi took to her social media platform to address the situation, reacting angrily to both the circumstances and the manager’s alleged comments.

“Randy said I was begging him to include me in the Olympic team. He should come and say it in front of me,” Ebi wrote.

She compared her situation to that of Brazilian star Marta, who is going to the Olympics as a form of honor and will only participate in a few games.

Ebi criticized the approach taken in Nigeria, stating that rather than being honored, she has faced insults and frustration, with calls for her to leave the national team.

Ebi’s statements highlight ongoing tensions within the Super Falcons camp as they prepare for the Olympic Games.
