D’Tigress head coach, Rena Wakama acknowledged that her players did not perform at their best during the 75-54 defeat to France in their second group game at the 2024 Olympic Games.

Following a sensational victory over Australia on Monday, expectations were high for the African champions.

However, D’Tigress was comprehensively outplayed by the hosts.

“We didn’t play our game, we were not ourselves. What helped us secure the win on Monday, we didn’t bring today,” Wakama told FIBA.com.

“It’s tough when you let another team shoot 63 percent inside the paint. It’s hard to beat anybody; we need to get back to our ways.”

Nigeria will look to rebound as they face Canada in their final group game on Sunday.
