Paris 2024: Chukwuma Faces Tough Competition in 100m Semifinal

Team Nigeria’s Rosemary Chukwuma has been placed in a challenging semifinal for the women’s 100m at the Paris 2024 Olympics.

After finishing third in her heat with a time of 11.26 seconds, Chukwuma secured her spot in the next round.

She finished behind Poland’s Ewa Swoboda, who won the heat with a season-best time of 10.99 seconds, and Great Britain’s Dina Asher-Smith, who came second with 11.01 seconds.

In the semifinals, the 23 year-old will face a tough field including Sha’Carri Richardson, Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce, Julien Alfred, Imani Lansiquot, Gina Bass-Bittaye, Bree Masters, Patrizia Van de Weken, and Gladymar Torres in Heat 2.

Only the top two finishers from each semifinal will advance to the final on Saturday, making it a fierce competition for Chukwuma.
