Despite being tipped to win the encounter, da Silva insists Brazil must remain cautious against the Super Falcons that ranked among the top 26 in the last Women’s FIFA World Cup.

“This first game is crucial. In fact, it will always be like this. We need to have a lot of concentration and focus for this debut. And take it step by step,” said da Silva, who also plays for Orlando Pride in the National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL) in the United States.

Emphasizing the importance of set pieces, da Silva noted that Brazil must enhance their execution and defense during these critical moments.

“A detail from a set piece, for example, whether it’s to score a goal or to prevent the opposing team from scoring. Therefore, we must pay as much attention as possible not only in games but also in our daily training,” she added.

Brazil’s quest for Olympic glory begins with a formidable test, as the Nigerian side have proven to be resilient side.

The Super Falcons reached the FIFA Women’s World Cup round of 16 without losing a game despite facing Australia, Canada and Republic of Ireland in the Group phase.
