Paralympic Icon celebrates “role model” Chioma Ajunwa MON as she turns 48

From one champion to another, 2016 Paralympic gold medalist Lauretta Onye described former Super Falcons and Olympic gold Long Jump winner Chioma Ajunwa MON as “my role model” in celebration of the icon on her birthday.

Ajunwa made history 22 years ago, in 1996 when she won Nigeria’s first individual gold medal at the Summer Olympic Games.

 

In a birthday message to Chioma Ajunwa, who turned 48 on Christmas day, Onye tweeted:

Happy birthday to my role model, the first woman to win gold in Atlanta 1996 Olympic Chioma Ajunwa . I wish u more blesses in ur life.
