D’Tigress player, Pallas Kunaiyi-Akpanah, ahead of their final showdown in the 2023 AfroBasket against Senegal, has said that the current squad can achieve the fourth consecutive title after beating host nation, Rwanda, 79-48 in the semi-final on Thursday.

Kunaiyi-Akpanah, who was also part of the 2021 championship winner team, said that D’Tigress is in a good spot to repeat the success of their predecessors under the tutelage of coach Rena Wakama.

“I feel really honoured, the team that won the two years ago was a phenomenal team, but I think this group as well is able to fill those shoes perfectly and under the leadership of coach Rena, I think we are in a good spot to repeat that win.”
