Poland has officially capped Maximilian Oyedele, successfully securing the talented midfielder’s international services ahead of Nigeria and England.
Oyedele, born in England, to a Polish mother and Nigerian father, was eligible to represent any of three nations at the senior level.
Despite having played for Poland at the under-18, under-19, under-20, and under-21 levels, reports suggested that he could switch to either England or Nigeria.
However his appearance for the senior team in a UEFA Nations League match against Portugal has now cemented his international future with Poland.
The 19-year-old midfielder started the game under head coach Michał Probierz, before being substituted by Jakub Moder after 66 minutes in a 1-3 defeat.
This senior cap puts an end to speculation about his international allegiance.
Oyedele, who joined Legia Warsaw from Manchester United during the summer transfer window, is seen as a promising talent for the Polish national team.
