Super Eagles assistant coach Joseph Yobo says it’s important the team take maximum points in their Afcon qualifying match against Sierra Leone.
The three times African champions will host the Leone Stars at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium in Benin on Friday, before traveling to Freetown for the reverse fixtures four days later.
A win for the Gernot Rohr’s side in both matches will strengthen their position on top of the table and will put them on the verge of qualifying for next African cup of Nations.
Yobo however highlighted that the team has to perform to their best abilities , especially when they are playing at home, because the reverse fixture in Freetown could be tricky.
“When you play at home, it’s important you play well & win. When you play away, especially against Sierra Leone, it is a difficult place to go to,” He told Super Eagles Youtube channel.
“All we have at this moment is the first game at home. I believe our performance will give us the three points,” He said.
Yobo was appointed as the assistant coach to Gernot Rohr in January 2020.
