Striker Victor Osimhen continues to be linked with a move to Manchester United, although Old Trafford club is yet to approach his club, Napoli.
Ronaldo’s agent Jorge Mendez is said to be at the center of the rumor as he’s desperate to get Ronaldo a new club, with Napoli’s preferred choice.
It is understood that United like Osimhen and has given Mendez the go-head to propose Ronaldo plus cash deal for the 23-year-old Nigerian international.
Manchester United’s prospects of landing Victor Osimhen as part of a reported £100m swap deal for an unsettled Red Devils star was ridiculed by the player’s agent, who said his client wants to play Champions League football.
When questioned by the media about the rumors on Sunday, Spalleti quickly put the talks to bed, saying Osimhen want to stay with the Partenopei.
“Osimhen gave his response, via his agent, saying he wants to play the Champions League and he wants to play it with this squad,” continued the coach.
“He cares about his teammates, he chases down opposition players to help out, and is a very strong focal point in attack. Having him at our disposal with that mentality is the best we could ask for.” He said.
