Osimhen plays down Napoli’s title favorite tag

Victor Osimhen insists it’s too early for Napoli to start dreaming of the Serie A title, insisting the season is still very young.

The Partenopei made it 11 consecutive wins in all competitions, with a hard-fought victory over AS Roma at the Stadio Olimpico on Sunday.

The club had only achieved the feat under Ottavio Bianchi from April to September 1986.

Asked if they are the favorites for the title this season, Osimhen replied:

“Just like I said last time, we have great solidarity in the team, everyone knows what they need to do at the right time.

“We just want to keep building on this momentum, the season is still young, so we are taking it one game at a time. Of course I am proud of this team,” He said.
