Victor Osimhen opened his goalscoring account as Galatasaray defeated Kayserispor 4-0 in the Süper Lig on Sunday evening.
The Nigerian striker, back for a second spell at the club following a summer return, struck in the 86th minute to register his first goal of the season.
He converted a squared pass from Nicolo Zaniolo, before Leroy Sané completed the scoring in stoppage time to seal an emphatic result for the defending champions.
Galatasaray controlled the contest from start to finish, producing 19 attempts on goal and enjoying 66 percent of possession.
Their relentless attacking play proved too much for Kayserispor, who struggled to deal with the visitors’ pace and precision in the final third.
The victory preserves Galatasaray’s perfect start to the 2025/26 campaign, with three wins from three matches placing them top of the table ahead of Trabzonspor on goal difference.
For Osimhen, the goal is an early boost as he looks to replicate last season’s performances.
The 26-year-old finished as Süper Lig top scorer in 2024/25 with 26 goals, a decisive contribution in the club’s title-winning campaign.
Strengthened by high-profile attacking reinforcements, Okan Buruk’s side appear even more formidable this season and well positioned to sustain their dominance.
Osimhen is expected to play a central role in Galatasaray’s pursuit of back-to-back championships.
