Osimhen: NFF Dismisses Reports of Disciplinary Action Against Super Eagles Forward

The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has not initiated disciplinary proceedings against Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen following his recent social media outburst.

Reports by some media outlets had suggested sources in the NFF say the body could hand Osimhen a suspension from the national team or a fine, or both, after his social media vitriol aimed at Finidi George and Fans.

In a statement, the Federation refuted these claims, clarifying that no such disciplinary process has been initiated or concluded.

It however called for collaboration from all stakeholders in resolving issues constructively and rather than exacerbating conflicts.

“Our focus presently is to resolve all matters around the Super Eagles and be able to look ahead with confidence to the 2025 AFCON qualifiers and the remaining six matches of the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualification series.

“This is not the time to spread falsehood and foul the public space the more,” the NFF stated.

Victor Osimhen’s outburst reportedly came after Finidi George allegedly blamed him for lack of commitment.
