Osimhen Needs the Premier League – Sodje

Former Nigeria international Sam Sodje has advised forward Victor Osimhen to consider a move to the Premier League.

It’s clear that Osimhen will not continue with Napoli next season and several clubs have shown interest in the Nigerian forward.

Speaking on “No Holds Barred” with Ifeanyi Udeze on Brila Media, the 45-year-old urged the reigning African Player of the Year to seek a new challenge outside of Italy.

“The best thing for Osimhen, personally I think he should leave Italy and go for a different test, that will help him. As long as he deals with his attitude, I’m sure he will be fine,” Sodje stated.

“We in England want to see him play in the Premier League because his style of play, his seriousness, and ruggedness fit the league perfectly. So, I’m hoping Chelsea goes through with the deal because he will be very good in the Premier League.”

The former Brentford center-back also advised Osimhen to remain humble and avoid making enemies in the sports world.

“Osimhen is young. He needs to understand that there is life after sports. We were all once superstars like him, but the earlier you understand that your time comes and goes, the better for you.

“I think he is a great player and will do well, but he has to realize that there is life after sports. You can’t keep creating enemies because in football, tomorrow might be your last day.

“Let’s be respectful, but I’m sure he will be fine,” he concluded.
