Making his first start since returning from injury, Osimhen led the line for the reigning Super Lig champions, who were eager to end a three-game winless streak.

The Nigerian striker wasted no time in making an impact, converting a penalty just three minutes into the match to give Galatasaray an early lead.

However, Kayserispor responded quickly, equalizing in the 13th minute through Stéphane Bahoken.

The hosts’ celebrations were short-lived as Barış Yılmaz restored Galatasaray’s advantage with a clinical finish in the 29th minute, ensuring the visitors went into halftime 2-1 up.
