Napoli striker Victor Osimhen has kicked off pre-season training with the club, but the Nigerian remains poised for a potential departure from the Stadio Maradona.

Osimhen arrived at Napoli’s Castel Volturno training center Tuesday morning to undergo medical examinations and commence pre-season activities under new manager Antonio Conte.

Despite his participation in training, the forward is widely expected to leave the club this summer, although no formal offers have materialized yet.

The Nigerian’s contract features a €130 million release clause, and while there have been links to Chelsea and Paris Saint-Germain, Napoli has yet to receive bids.

According to La Repubblica, Osimhen was among the first to report to the training center on Tuesday.

The striker had previously missed Napoli’s final league match and Nigeria’s FIFA World Cup qualifiers against South Africa and Benin Republic due to injury.

Meanwhile, Conte is not planning for Osimhen to be part of the squad next season, with Romelu Lukaku emerging as the leading candidate to replace him.
