Former Galatasaray forward Burak Yılmaz has heaped praise on Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen, describing him as a player “above the Turkish League.”

Osimhen joined Galatasaray from Napoli during the summer transfer window on loan and has been a standout performer since his arrival.

The 25-year-old hit the ground running, scoring two goals and providing two assists in his first three games for the Lions in the Turkish Süper Lig.

By achieving this, Osimhen became the first Galatasaray player to register at least three goal involvements in his first three league matches since Bafétimbi Gomis in 2017.

He has since maintained his stellar form, tallying nine goals and five assists so far this season.

In an interview with TRT Spor, Yılmaz lauded Osimhen’s physicality and athleticism, highlighting why the Nigerian striker stands out in the league.

“If we ask any Galatasaray fan, you will see that the Europa League does not make them happy. Galatasaray is a Champions League team, this is what distinguishes Galatasaray,” Yılmaz said.

“Victor Osimhen is a very high-level football player with his athletic structure and physical genetics. He is a European center forward and one of the top 5-6 center forwards in the world.”

Yılmaz further warned that Osimhen’s immense talent has attracted the attention of top clubs across Europe, adding,

“There are many top-level teams following Osimhen closely. Victor Osimhen is currently a player above the Turkish League in terms of physical appearance, he should not be harmed.”

Osimhen’s remarkable performances continue to reinforce his reputation as one of the best center-forwards in world football.
