Victor Osimhen has withdrawn from Nigeria’s squad ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against South Africa and Benin Republic.

The forward cited injury as the reason for his absence, and is expected to be out for at least four weeks.

News of Osimhen’s injury comes as a blow to Nigeria’s preparations for the important World Cup qualifying fixtures.

Meanwhile, Super Eagles head Coach Finidi George has called up Rangers Int’l left back Kenneth Igboke as replacement for the Forward.

Nigeria will play against South Africa at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium in Uyo on Friday, June 7th.

Following that match, they will travel to Abidjan to take on the Benin Republic three days later.

Nigeria will hope to turn the tide to get their World Cup qualifying campaign back on track.
