Hero Victor Osimhen is excited with his impressive display for Nigeria U23, as they come back from 2-0 first leg defeat to record a 4-0 win over Libya in Tuesday’s second leg in 2019 U-23 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.
The former U-17 World Cup winner was drafted from the Super Eagles alongside Francis Uzoho, Chidozie Awaziem and Valentine Ozornwafor to help the Dream Team VII against the Libyans.
The Wolfsburg striker, however, didn’t disappoint, as he scored three out of the four goals scored by the team at Stephen Keshi Stadium in Asaba on Monday.
The Belgian base striker took to his social media to hail the Dream Team VII for the comeback while expressing his delight on his performance.
“What a comeback, great performance from the boys, Osimhen posted on Instagram.
[I am] overwhelmed to score a hat-trick and provide an assist, God is the greatest. We move [on].”
After helping the team to advance to the next phase, Osimhen is expected to rejoin the Super Eagles for their friendly game against Egypt on Tuesday evening.
