Victor Osimhen has refused to reduce his salary amid ongoing interests from Chelsea, according to football transfer expert Fabrizio Romano.
In his update on Osimhen’s transfer rollercoaster, Romano revealed an impasse owing to wage demands.
The latest on the Napoli Forward’s future is that, he has been linked with a move to Chelsea, with Romelu Lukaku potentially heading the other way as his replacement.
However, negotiations have been challenging, with Chelsea yet to reach an agreement with Napoli on the transfer fee and personal terms for the players involved.
Currently earning about €10 million at Napoli, Osimhen is unwilling to accept a lower salary, a condition Chelsea is reluctant to meet.
Additionally, Chelsea proposed a season-long loan move with an option to buy, which the Serie A winner is not open to.
“No changes so far on Victor Osimhen deal for Chelsea,” Romano tweeted. “Chelsea explore talks with Napoli; Napoli want Lukaku; Osimhen will NOT reduce his salary + he’s not open to straight loan/open buy option right now.
