Galatasaray forward, Victor Osimhen has assured fans that the discomfort he felt during the team’s 3-3 draw with Kasimpasa is not a “serious issue”.
The Nigerian scored twice in the first half, but was substituted after the break, raising concerns over a likely injury.
Osimhen, however, clarified that his decision to leave the pitch was precautionary.
“It’s not a serious injury. I felt a bit of discomfort and thought it was best to inform the coach.
“I didn’t want to risk affecting the team’s performance,” Osimhen told the club’s official website.
The striker’s brace had helped Galatasaray establish a comfortable 3-0 lead, but Kasimpasa fought back to secure a dramatic draw.
While Osimhen was pleased with his personal performance, he expressed disappointment with the final result.
“As a team, we’re unhappy. We deserved all three points, but sometimes football doesn’t go as planned,” he said.
“I’m happy with my two goals, but we need to work harder and focus on winning the next match.”
The forward now has two goals and two assists in three league games for Galatasaray.
