Napoli are sweating over the fitness of Victor Osimhen ahead of their league clash with Inter Milan.
The Nigerian striker, who sustained a muscle injury during Tuesday’s Champions League fixture against Barcelona, had separate training on Friday, casting doubt over his participation in the upcoming match.
Osimhen, who played the full duration of the Barcelona game, faced criticism from Fabio Capello and the Italian media for his performance, where he struggled to leave a significant impact on the field.
The 25-year-old’s statistics from the match revealed a poor figure, winning just one out of his attempted ten duels and being flagged offside six times, three of which occurred within the first 21 minutes of play.
This setback adds to Osimhen’s turbulent season, though he has managed to contribute only 13 goals in 24 appearances across all competitions.
His campaign has been marred by injury setbacks, including a two-month absence and international commitments during the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations.
