Nigerian forward Victor Osimhen has responded to claims suggesting that Galatasaray cannot function without him, insisting that football is a collective effort and that his teammates deserve full respect.
Osimhen, who has featured in three matches since returning from the AFCON, emphasized that his performances are only possible because of the support he receives from those around him.
He stressed that no individual can succeed alone in football and dismissed suggestions that diminish the contribution of his teammates.

“First of all I will commend the confidence everyone has put in me. I try to do my best for the team, and I can’t give my best without the help of my teammates. I have to commend them.
“Football is like this also I have been in the spot where we have drawn some games that we aren’t supposed to. But I think some people saying this is a big respect to my teammates because they also try to win every game even without me being here.”
The forward added that now he is back, his sole focus is helping the team achieve success for the remainder of the season.
“Now that I am back, I just try to help my team like I have also done before. Thank you for your support while I was away a lot of Galatasaray fans reached out to me, my family and friends, also making sure I am okay.
“I am back, and for now business is back. I will try to give my everything just like I have always done, as well as my teammates.”
Osimhen also made it clear that the team has moved past previous setbacks and is fully focused on its objectives.
“I know the losses against the other people doesn’t matter. I think we have moved past it. We have set our sights on the UEFA Champions League and the league. Me and my teammates will make sure we take Galatasaray to where it deserves to be.”
