Victor Osimhen found the back of the net as Napoli defeated Greek club Apollon Limassol 2-0 in a pre-season friendly at the Stadio Patini.

Osimhen, on Wednesday, injured his ankle and left training early, but quickly recover to take part in the practice match.

The Nigeria international surprisingly, started the game for Rudi Garcia’s side and made his mark.

He gave the Partenopei the lead with a cool finish on the hour mark – for his third goal in pre-season. His deputy Giovanni Simeone grabbed the second to seal the win for the Italian Calcio Champions.

“We did a good job of preparation, even very tight in terms of intensity,” Rudi Garcia said after the game against Apollon Limassol, which also concludes Napoli’s training camp in Castel di Sangro.

“We are ready to start the championship, what matters is to be in the best condition for the race in Frosinone. We will need a good performance because we face a fierce opponent.”

Napoli will start their Serie A campaign with an away trip to Frosinone on August 17.
