Victor Osimhen has conveyed his strong belief in Nigeria’s potential to win the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).
Three-time champions, Nigeria, last secured the continental trophy in South Africa back in 2013.
Osimhen remains optimistic, asserting that the current team possesses the necessary quality to triumph in the upcoming tournament.
“The most important thing for us now is to go to Ivory Coast and win the tournament,” Osimhen said.
“I believe in this group, we have bunch of talented players to execute the job, fingers crossed and we are going to do so well.”
Victor Osimhen, who was top scorer in the qualifiers with 10 goals, arrived the Super Eagles camp in Abu Dhabi on Friday.
The forward is expected to lead Nigeria’s charge for a fourth AFCON title, where Nigeria kicks off its campaign against Cote d’Ivoire, Equatorial Guinea and Guinea Bissau in Group A.
