Italy’s legend Filippo Inzaghi has thrown his weight behind Napoli striker Victor Osimhen to excel, and rates the Nigerian as a better striker than Karim Benzema and Olivier Giroud at the moment.

Osimhen has nine Serie A goals from 11 matches this season, despite spending six weeks on the sideline with injury.

The Nigeria international was also on target as the Partenopei, came from behind to beat Premier League side Crystal Palace 3-1 in a club friendly on Sunday.

Inzaghi stated that Osimhen is blessed with great qualities and he is better than Ballon d’Or winner Benzema.

“If we think of Napoli, Osimhen is a true centre-forward,” Inzaghi said as quoted by TuttoNapoli.

“He attacks deep, and keeps the ball, Osimhen is probably the best right now, beyond Benzema, who, however, is less of an area centre forward, and perhaps than Giroud.”

Osimhen will hope to continue his fine form when the Serie A resumes, with Napoli facing Inter Milan at the San Siro on January 4.

Napoli are currently top of the table with 41 points from 15 matches and they are yet to lose a game.
