Africa Table Tennis Federation Vice President and board member of the NTTF Waheed Enitan Oshodi has expressed strong optimism on the chances of Nigeria securing qualification for next year’s Tokyo 2020 games as the players continue to actively engage themselves in readiness for the Olympic qualifiers.
Oshodi says with the players back to their clubs and playing again, he is sure this will help boost their chances of doing well at the qualifying tournament and secure qualification for Nigeria.
“We go early in the year for the qualifying tournament and I’m hopeful that at least we will qualify but it’s going to be very difficult. Table Tennis right now, the standard is unbelievable.
“The only thing we can say is we have players who are of that standard. On the day Aruna or Jide can do it. But we are quite hopeful preparations are ongoing they are back on the professional tour now.”
