Super Falcons striker and Six-time African Women’s Player of the Year, Asisat Oshoala produced a ruthless hat-trick to propel Al Hilal into the semi-finals of the Saudi Women’s Premier Challenge Cup, sealing a vehement 5–0 victory over Eastern Flames on Saturday.
The Nigerian forward, who came into the encounter with six league goals in seven appearances, once again announced her importance to the Riyadh-based club with a dominant performance at the Al Taraji Club Stadium.
Oshoala’s clinical display has boosted hopes of reaching the final and ending the club’s wait for silverware, with Al Hilal aiming to win their first trophy since lifting the Kingdom Women’s Community Football League title in 2020.
Oshoala Controlled the First-Half
Al Hilal dominated proceedings from the opening exchanges, dictating possession and pinning Eastern Flames deep inside their own half with sustained attacking pressure.
Their control was rewarded in the first half when Oshoala opened the scoring, calmly finishing to give Al Hilal a deserved lead at the interval following a spirited team display.
Second-Half Surge and Clinical Finishing
Oshoala wasted little time after the restart, striking again shortly into the second half with another composed finish to double Al Hilal’s advantage.
Eastern Flames struggled to cope with Al Hilal’s attacking intensity as the match progressed, and the pressure eventually told.
Asisat Oshoala completed her hat-trick later in the game, netting Al Hilal’s fourth goal to record her first treble of the season.
The remaining goal capped a one-sided contest, which sealed the 5–0 scoreline and confirmed Al Hilal’s progression to the last four.
