Super Falcons captain Asisat Oshoala has appealed to Nigerians to keep faith with the women national team after playing out a goalless draw away against Côte I’ivoire in the 2020 Olympic games women’s football qualifier.
Oshoala says the team should be supported as a whole rather than attempt to single out individuals for a certain level of responsibility.
He stated that the work is collective and everyone needs to do well to ensure the team delivers on the objective of qualifying for the Tokyo 2020 Olympics.
“I will plead with Nigerians to show their support towards the team and not just me as an individual. You don’t have to say you’re looking at just Asisat to perform.
“It’s a team game, everyone needs to perform, everyone needs to do well. If the team is not playing well I don’t think I can do anything. It’s a team sport and not an individual sport.”
