Osayi-Samuel’s Napoli dream move hits the rock

Bright Osayi-Samuel’s dream of joining Victor Osimhen at Napoli has hit the rock after the Partenopei opted to pursue a deal with another player.

Osayi-Samuel has been linked with many clubs, with the player report keen on joining the current Serie A leaders from Fenerbahce.

Reports in Turkey suggested the Nigerian international has many admirers in Naples and they believe, he could be another option for Luciano Spalletti apart from Giovanni Di Lorenzo.

The former Queens Park Rangers star has three years left on his current deal with Fenerbahce, and the Turkish Super Lig side doesn’t want to negotiate a January exit, forcing Napoli to look elsewhere.

According to Corriere Dello Sport, Napoli have reached out to Sampdoria for their Polish right back Bartosz Bereszyński ending Osayi-Samuel’s chase.

“Napoli have agreed to a deal with Sampdoria for Polish full-back Bartosz Bereszyński and will not move for Osayi-Samuel,” the report reads.

“Bereszyński, 30, will join Luciano Spalletti’s side initially on a six-month loan deal before inking a permanent contract next summer.”

Osayi-Samuel joined Fenerbahce in the summer 2021 from English Championship outfit Queens Park Rangers.
