Gift Orban came off the bench to help KAA Gent secure a point away at Mechelen, in the Jupiler Pro League on Sunday.

Orban wasn’t considered for a starting role as he was given a rest ahead of Thursday’s trip to West Ham United.

Gent struggled for fluidity in the attack and the gaffer had to bring on the winger in the second half.

Orban, who has nine goals and two assists in nine games for the club, showed why he’s one of the jewels of Belgian football after coming on.

His introduction changed the game completely for KAA Gent, to the delight of the away fans at the Achter de Kazerne stadium.

According to statistics from the game, the Nigerian created four goal scoring opportunities and had two shots at goal.

Gift Orban, who has been linked with a big move to Premier League, also completed three take ons.

The game ended 1-1, and the result was enough to keep Gent’s playoff dream alive.
