Onyekuru celebrates Galatasaray’s first win away at Fenerbahce in 20 years

Galatasaray forward, Henry Onyekuru was delighted with his team’s 3-1victory against Fenerbahce in Sunday’s Turkish Super Lig game.

The Nigeria international was handed a starting role in the intriguing encounter and played a huge role in the Lions first victory against their rivals since 1996.

Galatasaray started the game on the back foot and trailed the Yellow Canaries in the first 45 minutes following Max Kruse’s 21st minute effort.

However, goals from Ryan Donk, Radamel Falcao and Onyekuru secured maximum points for Fatih Terim’s men against Fenerbahce at the Ulker Stadium.

Reacting to the game, the Super Eagles star took to social media to celebrate his teammates after the win.

“WE DID IT! Today we made history and won after 20 years at their home. I feel blessed to be able to be apart of this moment. This win is for YOU!,” Onyekuru wrote on Twitter.

The Monaco loanee who was on for 90 minutes, was subbed off for  Adem Buyuk in the eight minute of added time.

The result pushed Galatasaray to second in the Super Lig table, level on 45 points with third-placed Sivasspor and leaders Trabzonspor who have a game in hand.
