Nigeria midfielder, Frank Onyeka expressed confidence in the prospective success of teammate Victor Osimhen in the upcoming Premier League season.
Osimhen, 25, has garnered interest from top-tier English clubs, including Chelsea and Manchester United.
The former Lille player is poised for a high-profile transfer from Napoli, with the Serie A champions anticipated to set a release clause in the range of €120-130 million.
When questioned about playing alongside Osimhen in the Nigeria squad during the Africa Cup of Nations, Onyeka hinted his compatriot has what it takes to succeed in the Premier League.
“No, no, no! He’s too expensive! He’s a really good guy but he’s someone that wants to win. He doesn’t like to lose, even in training. He always wants to push players around him, try to encourage them. He’s a fighter.
“He’s always there to help the team, fight for the team. Even when the team is down he’ll be the first man to push the team. He never gives up. For me he was one of the best players in the tournament but people don’t really see what he does.
“Hopefully he comes to the Premier League.”
Victor Osimhen has netted 11 goals and providing three assists across 17 league matches for Napoli this season.
