Brentford manager Thomas Frank has confirmed that Nigerian international Frank Onyeka has left the club due to a lack of adequate playing time.
Onyeka, 26, joined German club Augsburg on a season-long loan, pending international clearance.
Since his move to Brentford in July 2021, Onyeka has struggled for consistent minutes on the pitch, frequently voicing his frustration at being on the fringes of the team.
“Frank wants to play week in, week out as a starter; this is a good opportunity for him to do that,” said Frank.
The Bees Boss also praised Onyeka’s contributions to the team, saying, “He has been a big part of our success, and I can’t praise him enough for that in every aspect.”
Frank Onyeka made 78 appearances for the Bees since his arrival from Midtjylland in July 2021.
