Brentford head coach Thomas Frank confirms the departure of Frank Onyeka was due to lack of regular playing time.
Onyeka joined the German Bundesliga side FC Augsburg on loan just before the English transfer window closed.
The Super Eagles midfielder had struggled to secure a starting position at Brentford’s Gtech Community Stadium.
Speaking about Onyeka’s departure, the Danish manager said, “Frank wants to play week in, week out as a starter; this is a good opportunity for him to do that. He has been a big part of our success, and I can’t praise him enough for that in every aspect.”
Since joining Brentford from Midtjylland in July 2021, Onyeka made 78 appearances in all competitions.
Brentford has had a solid start to the 2024-25 Premier League campaign, winning two of their first three games.
They are set to face a tough challenge against Manchester City in their next league match.
