Raphael Onyedika is set to make his debut appearance in the UEFA Champions League and also his first start for Club Brugge when they clash against Bayer Leverkusen.
Onyedika was brought in from FC Midtjylland for a transfer fee in the region of €10 million, and replaced Angola’s Clinton Mata who was injured in the 29th minute in the Jupiler League game against Cercle Brugge KSV.
Onyedika was impeccable with his performance as he fit in seamlessly into the the team and helped drive them to a 4-0 victory.
Such was his performance that he earned praises from head coach Carl Hoefkens Carl who described Onyedika as a delight to watch.
Mata will still be unavailable and the Super Eagles hopeful will be eyeing a spot in the starting lineup for his first start for Club Brugge and also a first appearance in the UEFA Champions League.
