Super Eagles midfielder, Raphael Onyedika suffered an injury during Club Brugge’s pulsating
5-5 draw with K.V.C. Westerlo on Wednesday evening.
Onyedika was forced off after just 15 minutes, and his absence was quickly felt as the game turned into a frantic, high-scoring encounter.

Westerlo stunned the champions by taking the lead just 25 seconds into the match and doubled their advantage in first-half stoppage time.

Club Brugge responded before the break to reduce the deficit and came out strongly after the
restart, overturning the scoreline within 10 minutes of the second half.
Westerlo then regained control with goals in the 61st and 68th minutes, but Brugge staged
another comeback.
An 86th-minute strike and a stoppage-time own goal from Emin Bayram turned the game
around in the hosts’ favour.
However, in a dramatic twist, Bayram redeemed himself by netting a last-gasp equaliser to
secure a point for Westerlo.
Speaking after the game, Club Brugge head coach Christos Tzolis admitted Onyedika’s early
withdrawal had an impact on his side.
“It was clear Onyedika’s injury weakened our defense. I hope it is not too serious,” Tzolis
said.
Onyedika will undergo medical examinations in the coming days, with Club Brugge expected
to release a full update on his condition soon.
