The Super Eagles midfielder Raphael Onyedika, along with his Club Brugge teammates, will commence their defense of the Belgian league title on Friday against Mechelen at Jan Breydel Stadium.
Onyedika is expected to get a starting belt after the recent Super Cup defeat Union St Gilloise.
The midfielder began the match on the bench, entering in the second half and playing for 34 minutes in the 2-1 defeat. He contributed immensely, providing proper cover for the back four.
Last season, Onyedika was a crucial part of Club Brugge’s success, featuring in 30 matches and netting three goals.
As the new season kicks off, Club Brugge is expected to face stiff competition from teams like Union St. Gilloise, Genk, Royal Antwerp, and Gent.
