Onuh Accuses Abia Warriors of Dirty Conspiracy
92
Suspended Abia Warriors head coach Erasmus Onuh has alleged that the club is attempting to force him out of his position, citing a pre-existing contract that runs until August as the reason they have been unable to dismiss him.
Onuh, who is currently suspended from his role, believes the club’s intention is to replace him with his assistant.
“What happened is this, it’s been a long-term plan, but it didn’t work. When they brought in my assistants, they were looking for a way to push me out and give them the job,” Onuh said.
“They want to swap, but it’s not possible because I have an existing contract. My contract expires in August. They are still paying me. Well, you have to be sincere and honest—they are paying me. They asked me to step aside. I was removed.”
Onuh also expressed that he would not take back the coaching role for the upcoming Federations Cup final, stating it would be unfair to reap the rewards where he has not sown.
“Let them do it. I am open to anyone who needs my services. It would be very insulting to my person if I were to take charge for the final.”
Abia Warriors have a President’s Federation Cup to play against El Kanemi Warriors this weekend.
