Paul Onuachu earned Genk a vital win in the European playoff against Sporting Charleroi on Wednesday.
Onuachu scored one goal in the 3-2 comeback win over Charleroi at the Limburgers to keep their hope of playing in Europe next season alive.
The lanky forward missed a few begging chances, but managed to score the game’s most difficult chance.
“I had to dive to get to that ball, and put it where I wanted,” he told the press after the game.
“Koffi is a very good goalkeeper. He had already saved my two previous headers well, so, I knew I had to do something special to beat him.
“So diving for the ball and then crossing was the only option to have a chance of a goal,” Onuachu was quoted on voetbalkrant.com.
Onuachu has now scored 21 goals for Genk in all competitions.
