Nigeria forward Paul Onuachu has expressed his desire to remain in Turkey following a fruitful loan spell at Trabzonspor, rather than returning to Southampton.

Onuachu joined the Turkish Super Lig side on loan last summer after a challenging six-month period at Southampton.

During his time at Trabzonspor, the Forward has thrived, scoring 17 goals and providing four assists in 25 matches.

Despite Southampton’s €18 million investment to bring him from Belgian Pro League side KRC Genk, the club is now looking to sell him for €15 million.

Trabzonspor’s bid to extend his loan deal has been rejected by Southampton, but Onuachu remains keen to stay in Turkey.

According to Turkish news outlet Kuzey Ekspres, the forward prefers to continue his career in the Super Lig, highlighting his successful adaptation and impressive performance in Turkey.
