Paul Onuachu scored his first goal of the season for the KRC Genk in their UEFA Champions League qualifiers against Shakhtar Donetsk on Tuesday.
Onuachu was restored back to the starting line after he was left of the squad for the weekend league game against Oostende.
The 27-year-old marked his return to the squad with a first half goal at the Luminus Arena.
The former Midtjylland forward was at the right place at the right time to divert Junya Ito’s cross into the back of the net five minutes before the break.
Onuachu ended up on the losing side as Shakhtar Donetsk fought back in the second-half to turn the result around.
Brazilian stars Mateus Cardoso Lemos Martins, commonly known as Tetê struck the equalizer in the 63rd minute, before Alan Patrick completed the comeback with the second in the 81st minute.
Onuachu was substituted for his Super Eagles teammate Cyriel Dessers replaced Onuachu in the 82nd minute.
