Paul Onuachu’s transfer to the Turkish Super Lig club, Trabzonspor, is rapidly approaching its final stages following the player’s arrival in Turkey on Saturday.
A video posted by the Turkish news agency, Demirören Haber Ajansı, showed the Nigerian international warmly welcomed by Trabzonspor fans at the Trabzon Airport International Terminal.
Onuachu’s presence in Turkey is primarily to conclude negotiations with Trabzonspor and undergo a medical examination, all leading up to his official introduction as part of the team.
As he landed at 2150 hours local time, fans cheered Onuachu on his arrival, and he was promptly transported to his designated hotel.
Trabzonspor has had an eventful summer transfer window, securing notable signings such as Mislav Orsic and Nicolas Pépé from Southampton and Arsenal, respectively.
Onuachu appears poised to become the club’s next high-profile acquisition.
The towering 6-foot-7 striker moved to the Premier League in January, joining Southampton on a three-and-a-half-year deal.
However, he has faced challenges in replicating the outstanding performances he delivered for KRC Genk, where he tallied an impressive 85 goals in 134 appearances.
