Onuachu hits out at teammates for not providing enough service

Striker Paul Onuachu has ripped into his teammates following their shocking defeat to STVV at home on Sunday.

The Limburgers played a poor game and were poor on the night they needed to win to keep their European dream alive.

Talking about the shocking performance, the Nigerian international striker said the whole team played badly and didn’t cover themselves in glory.

“STVV fought for every ball, but when we played with the long ball, everyone got stuck in the back. There was no one to fight for the second ball,” he started his tirade.”

“We played bad, like scared weasels. We don’t play as a team and that’s the problem. Everyone just does what they like and so it’s hard for me to play my game.”

Onuachu was isolated up front and barely got any chance to hurt the organized opponents.

“I’m at the front on an island and can’t do anything. Everyone hid and nobody provided depth. I warned everyone in the dressing room that it would go just like Cercle Brugge. An explanation? I don’t have that.”

“Everything is in jeopardy now. We have to be honest, it’s been a terrible season so far.” a devastated Onuachu told the press.

Following the defeat, Genk remains 8th on the log with 45 points from 31 matches.
