Onuachu get cameo appearance in Gent defeat to Liverpool

Nigerian forward Paul Onuachu played for just five minutes in KRC Genk UEFA Champions league away loss to Liverpool in Anfield on Tuesday.

The forward replaced Casper De Noore five minutes from time for his third appearance in the competition this season, while his compatriot Steven Odey who scored the consolation goal in this fixture two weeks ago was not included in the matchday squad.

After winning the first leg 4-1 at the Litmus Arena two weeks ago, defending Champions Liverpool had to dig deep to get the winner against Felice Mazzu’s side.

Georginio Wijnaldum made it 1 – 0 after just three minutes into the game, but Mbwana Samata equalized for the Belgian Champions in the 41st minutes.

Fit-again Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain scored the decisive goal in the 53rd minutes to condemn Gent to yet another defeat.
